The trouble was that several nights i left the garage door open overnight so i thought i could use an arduino with a real time clock rtc to automatically close the garage door at 9 pm.

I used two sensors one for door is closed and the other for door is fully open and a relay.
So when backing in my car to my garage i would have a beam and sensor.
If you experience any drift away from 1000 for whatever reason simply press the request calibration button and each sensor will be recalibrated back to 1000.
